Childhood Haze

Toys and memories

Unmindful, I step onto an old wooden toy,
a very old wooden toy from childhood,
I hear it crackle under my feet,
a crisp crackle,and a part of that toy disintegrates,
apologetically, I look down, sadness engulfing me,
the echo rattles down the entire house,
the mind meanders towards a childhood haze.
