hey there, tall skyscraper, kissing the clouded sky,
getting to see the sunset and the moonrise,
feeling that first gush of caressing wind,
those first drops of rain tickling every rib of yours,
the sights and sounds of the cosmos,
reverberating in your veins every single second,
but, do you not feel scared, your walls trembling,
when the ground starts to shake, suddenly,
that flight flying so near, you close your eyes,
or that momentary thunderbolt dropping nearby,
doesn't your heart skip a bit, a strange rumble in your stomach,
or your fears go away when you see that kid,
lying near a window, counting stars, and sleeping,
sleeping peacefully in one of your balconies, or those two,
old lovers, holding hands, sitting in that wooden armchair,
chit-chatting about life, as the rain keeps lashing on and on,
or that mighty bird, tired of the journey, sits by your shed,
resting or some, building a nest, staying on forever,
am sure you enjoy these small joys, as you stand,
and stare, providing that satisfaction to those,
who call you their home sweet home!

A heart that finds solace in mountains, the whispers of old buildings, silences, books, poetry and football.
