It seems Percy will be back with something very soon!

My wife just passed by with a smile on her face
Maybe it’s contagious
Thoughts of soon seeing all four of my grandchildren
Two this evening all decorated for Halloween
The other two tomorrow
Those encounters never fail to lift my spirits
The humbling and somewhat comical knowledge
That I have a dog who can write as well as I can
(And he never lets me forget it)
The understanding that my somber thoughts
Are just me having a little pity party
A mere stumble in the grand scheme of things
Of course I don’t have the same “get up and go”
As when I was younger
But life is so much better for me in many ways
